Thor's Poetry

Poetry Journey

Poetry found Scott before he knew he needed it. Four years ago he started writing again to save his sanity and himself. The thoughts and feelings had been bottled up for so long they needed somewhere to go. Poetry became that place. A way to flow through the emotions. To process life. To create something that felt beautiful. To see the world in different ways.

What started as survival became a calling. A dream 45 years in the making.

He didn’t sit down one day and decide to become a poet. He sat down because he had to. And somewhere in that process he discovered that what he was writing wasn’t just for him. It was for everyone who had ever felt it but never had the words.

Sharon Daugherty

Sharon Daugherty is a Philadelphia born painter and sketch artist. The self-taught artist uses abstract expressionism to honor feminine energy and human experience, and to examine how we interact with our environments. Dominika Stanczak

When I create, I always start from a heartfelt space.
I do not confine myself to technical constrictions, perfection, or correctness.
I do not concentrate on the outcome but rather allow myself to flow with the lines, shapes, and layers of very intense colours in visual experiments and the stream of words in their linguistic counterparts, which reflects the turbulences and passion for life I love experiencing on a deep soulful level.
I immerse myself in the story of the painting or writing as if I was embodying a story from my own life, which I now want to experience more reflectively.

Why Poetry Matters

For Scott, poetry is permission. Permission to feel what you feel. Permission to name it without shame. Permission to be fully human in a world that often asks you to be anything but.

He writes to process life, to create something beautiful, and to see the world through a different lens. And if the person reading feels less alone in whatever they are carrying, then something extraordinary has happened.
